Cherry Chocolate Smoothie


1 cup apple or grape juice
1-1/2 cups leafy greens - fresh or frozen (about 2-3 large leaves of kale, chard, etc.)
1 banana
1 (12 oz.) bag frozen cherries
1 cup frozen berries
1/4 cup ground flax seed
2 to 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
1-1/2 cups soy or almond milk (unsweetened)
1 slice peeled ginger root (optional)
1 cup ice

Place all ingredients except ice in high speed blender. Blend for a few seconds until ingredients are all mixed. Then add the ice and blend again until smooth. This makes 4 large (12 oz.) servings. If you don't have frozen cherries you can substitute frozen or fresh berries of any kind.
